This Privacy Policy describes how Manomaya SAS ("us", "we", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Kord mobile application and its related website (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Microphone. The built-in tuner listens to your instrument through the microphone. The sound is analyzed in real time on your device; it is never recorded, stored, or sent to us.
Videos you share. When you share a TikTok or YouTube link to Kord, the app reads the video's public information (title, author, music credit) from the platform to identify the song. For some TikTok videos, the app temporarily downloads the video's audio to recognize the song with Apple's ShazamKit service and, when needed, to detect its chords on your device. The temporary audio file is not kept and is never sent to us. We record the title and artist of songs that people look for, without any personal identifier, to decide which songs to add.
Your chord charts and favorites. Chord charts you create or edit and the songs you mark as favorites are stored on your device.
Usage and device data. We collect technical data such as device model, operating system version, language, app version, how features are used, and crash reports, in order to operate and improve the Service.
Advertising and attribution. The free version shows ads. With your permission (Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt and, where required, a consent form), the advertising identifier of your device may be used to show relevant ads and to measure which campaigns led to the app being installed. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalized, and no advertising identifier is shared.
Support messages. If you contact us from the in-app chat, we receive your messages, your language, your app version, an anonymous customer identifier, and whether you have a premium subscription, so that we can answer you and check your purchase.
Purchases. In-app purchases are processed by the Apple App Store. We receive the status of your subscription or purchase linked to an anonymous customer identifier. We never collect or store your payment card details.
We use the information we collect to: provide the Service (song recognition, chord charts, tuner); manage your subscription; answer support requests; show ads in the free version and measure our advertising campaigns; measure performance and fix bugs; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
We rely on the following providers, which process data on our behalf and in accordance with their own privacy commitments:
Usage, crash and attribution data are kept only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Support conversations are kept as long as needed to handle your request and any follow-up. Data stored on your device (chord charts, favorites, settings) is deleted when you delete the app.
Depending on your place of residence (including under the EU GDPR and California law), you may have the right to access, rectify, delete, or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict its processing. You can withdraw your tracking permission at any time in your device's Settings. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@coachguitar.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in France, the CNIL).
The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update this page and the date above. Your continued use of the Service following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
